Who we are
Slim Boody makes beef jerky in Cairo and sells it through slimboody.com. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Slim Boody. If you have any question about your data, message us on WhatsApp at +20 129 995 6079, on Instagram at @slimboodyy, or by email at info@slimboody.com.
What we collect and why
- When you order. To deliver your order we need your name, mobile number, delivery area, address and any notes, plus the InstaPay number or address you paid from. If you add your email (optional), we use it only to email your order confirmation and delivery date. When you place an order we save these on our server, with what you ordered and the total, so we can check your payment and deliver. WhatsApp then opens with your order written out, and you choose to send it to us. Your transfer screenshot never goes to our website: it stays on your phone until you attach it in WhatsApp yourself. We use these details to check your payment, prepare and deliver your order, and talk to you about it.
- How you found us. If you arrive from a link (for example Instagram, TikTok, Google, one of our ads or posters), the site remembers where that link came from for 30 days and saves it with your order, so we know which posts and ads work. It records only the name of the site or the tag in the link, never your browsing on other sites.
- Count It In Grams (optional account). If you sign in with your email, we keep your email, name, mobile number, birthday (if you give it), whether you want news emails, your protein meter, your rewards and your order history. We use them to run the loyalty program: count your grams, give your free packs and birthday gift, and email you sign-in codes, order confirmations and rewards. We only send news and new flavours if you tick that box, and you can untick it any time on your account page.
- When you review a pack. If you fill in the review form on the batch page, we receive your answers, the batch number and, only if you type it, your mobile number. We use them to improve our jerky and, if you asked, to get back to you. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Analytics and advertising cookies, only if you agree. With your permission we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, and the Meta Pixel to measure our Instagram and Facebook ads and show them to people who may like them. Both stay off until you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
We use your data to carry out your order, with your consent (reviews, analytics and advertising), and where we have a legitimate need, such as keeping the website secure and preventing fraud.
Saved on your device
To make your next order faster, the site saves your language, your details from your last order, which link brought you here (for 30 days), whether you closed the new-flavour banner and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. If you sign in, a secure cookie keeps you signed in; it is only sent to our own website. You can remove all of them at any time by signing out or clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
- Whoever delivers your order: your name, mobile number and address.
- WhatsApp (Meta): we talk to you about your order on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
- InstaPay and the banks: your payment goes from your bank to ours through InstaPay.
- Hostinger: hosts our website, its database and our email.
- Google and Meta: only if you accept analytics or advertising cookies.
We never sell your personal data. Some of these providers process data outside Egypt.
How long we keep it
We keep order details for as long as we need them to deliver your order, deal with any problem with it, and keep our business records, then we delete them. We keep your Count It In Grams account until you ask us to delete it. We keep review answers until you ask us to delete them or we no longer need them. Google Analytics keeps data for up to 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or ask us to stop using it. You can withdraw your consent at any time; for cookies, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the shop or on our Cookie Policy page. To delete your account or get a copy of your data, message us on WhatsApp or email info@slimboody.com from the address you signed in with, and we will reply as soon as we can.
We follow Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020). If you are not happy with how we handled your data, you can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Centre.
Children
Our website is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to order for you.
Security
Our website only runs over a secure connection (HTTPS). We keep only the details we need, and only the people who handle your order can see them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
